Lanolin ethoxylated is a member of the ethoxylated lanolin derivatives family. After purification, it takes the form of a flaky wax, ranging in colour from yellow to amber, and emits a faint, distinctive odour. Lanis PEG 75 is composed of polymer chains comprising an average of 75 ethylene oxide units (monomers) that are chemically linked to ester compounds derived from high-quality lanolin anhydrous through a condensation reaction. The resulting macromolecules possess an average molecular weight (MW) of approximately 4000 Daltons and consist of a lanolin ester core surrounded by a polyethylene oxide chain.
Lanolin ethoxylated is a water-soluble derivative of lanolin obtained anhydrous through ethoxylation and solutions containing lanolin ethoxylated (both aqueous and ethanolic) remain clear at any concentration, are non-ionic, and compatible with various physiological electrolytes, such as sodium chloride. The dissolved lanolin derivatives exhibit stability across a wide pH range of 2 to 10.
Lanolin ethoxylated serves as a multifunctional surfactant with solubilising, emulsifying, wetting, and mild detergent-like properties. It finds applications in clear liquid cosmetics and personal care products that require viscosity control, including aftershaves and cleansing lotions. By reducing the defatting effect of detergents on the skin and hair, it preserves their cleansing efficacy. Lanolin ethoxylated derivatives excel as solubilisers for insoluble substances like lanolin, lanolin oil, and hydrocarbons. Moreover, they contribute to the formulation of stable, low-viscosity microemulsions containing insoluble pharmacological compounds for wound or burn sprays.
In addition to its solid anhydrous form, lanolin ethoxylated is also available in a 50% aqueous solution. The clear, bright yellow viscous liquid has the same characteristics as anhydrous lanolin, with the added advantage of already being dissolved and therefore easier to handle.
Lanis PEG 75 serves as a solubiliser for fats, a spreading agent for tar in skin-care products, and is compatible with amphoterics and mild tensides, making it suitable for use in baby shampoos. In addition, Lanis PEG 75 is an excellent choice for formulating soaps, detergent cleansers, foam baths, and shaving foams. When used in small concentrations, it functions as a clarifying agent in clear shampoos and gels. Furthermore, Lanis PEG 75 finds utility in various personal care products, including skin-care creams, lotions, hair-styling products, and nail polish removers.

Lanis PEG 75/50 is a 50% aqueous solution and is available in addition to its solid form Lanis PEG 75 with similar characteristics. The clear, bright yellow viscous liquid has the same characteristics as lanolin anhydrous, with the added advantage of already being dissolved and therefore easier to handle.
